  1. Commands

/bidders

View a list of the top 10 bidders for a specific auction, including both active and completed auctions.

Usage

Type /bidders followed by selecting the specific auction you want to check.

Access

Admin only

Function

  • Displays the top 10 bidders for a selected auction

  • Shows bid amounts for each listed bidder

  • Provides an overview of auction participation and bid distribution

Process

  1. Enter the /bidders command

  2. Select the specific auction you want to check from the provided list

  3. View the list of top 10 bidders and their bid amounts

Important Notes

  • This command can be used for both active and inactive (completed) auctions

  • Only server administrators have access to this command

  • The list is limited to the top 10 bidders to maintain privacy and manage data display

  • Bidders are sorted primarily by bid amount, from highest to lowest

  • In case of tied bid amounts, the earlier bid takes precedence (first come, first served)

Display Format

For each bidder, you'll typically see:

  • Bidder's Discord username or ID

  • Their highest bid amount

  • Timestamp of the bid (useful for understanding tie-breakers)

Use Cases

  • Monitor auction participation and engagement

  • Identify highly active bidders

  • Verify auction integrity and fairness

  • Assist in resolving any disputes or issues related to bids

Bid Ranking and Tiebreakers

  • Bids are primarily ranked from highest to lowest amount

  • When two or more bidders have the same bid amount:

    • The bidder who placed their bid earlier is ranked higher

    • This "first come, first served" principle ensures fair ranking in case of ties

  • The timestamp of each bid is crucial for determining order in tied situations

Privacy and Ethical Considerations

  • Use this information responsibly and in accordance with your server's rules and privacy policies

  • Avoid sharing bid information publicly to maintain the integrity of blind auctions

  • Consider informing users that admins have access to bid information

Troubleshooting

  • If an auction isn't listed, ensure it's within the timeframe of auctions stored by the bot

  • Check your admin permissions if you're unable to use the command

  • Contact bot support if you believe there's an error in the displayed information

Example

Input: /bidders [Select auction from the list] Output:

Best Practices

  • Pay attention to timestamps when reviewing bids, especially for high-stakes auctions

  • In case of disputes, the timestamp can be crucial for determining the winning bid

  • Regularly check this command throughout the auction to monitor close competitions

Remember

While this command provides valuable insights, it's important to maintain the spirit of blind auctions. Use the information judiciously and primarily for administrative and troubleshooting purposes.
